In the past , chairs are placed rooted on the ground. With breaking the rules method , designers have place chair above the ground such as inputting the use of playground fun by making the chairs as swings.
In the past , book shelfs used to be straight and standing on the ground. With breaking the rules method, designers have designed shelfs that can be pinned on the wall and also usw geometric shapes which is the triangles to create the scene of a figure running & falling down.
In the past , we need to have keys to enter the door. With breaking the rules method , we can now unlock the door using our mobile devices. Thus, it improves our lives efficiently as it avoids the hassle of digging our bag in order to find the keys.
In the past , we need a spoon to stir our hot drink. With breaking the rules method, just a press of a button on the handler of the mug, our drink is evenly stirred automatically. Thus, we need not worry if there is any residue left unstirred in the mug.
In the past , 3d objects are made from machines or by hands using a range of materials. This takes a lot of time and effort. With breaking the rules method , u can create 3d objects in just minutes with the touch of your hand using this 3d pen.
Take A Journey
The sun was streaming through a break in the clouds in great watery shafts of gold while the clouds are white marble on blue satin, dove gray underneath and brilliant white. The sun shone relentlessly on the tree as the shadow of the tree was cast on the road. Behind the tree, was a poster of Miranda Kerr, a Victoria secret model.
I was squinting my eyes because it was very sunny so I decided to stand in the shade. I can feel the wind blowing and fresh air filled my lungs which made me felt refreshed and exhilarated. Furthermore, I could smell the freshly-cut grass.
Nearby , I could hear the sounds of machinery as the construction workers were cutting the trees. In addition, I could hear vehicles going by. It was rather noisy and a few of the passengers waiting for their bus to arrive were either covering their ears or busy on their mobile phones.
Here is the video of Tim Brown : Tales of creativity and play
Introduction
As we got
older, we feared the judgement of our peers which causes us to be conservative in
our thinking. That is why many creative companies created wacky and playful environment so that employees feel relaxed and comfortable to share their ideas freely with everyone.
Exploration
Openness is
the beginning of exploratory play. For example, if I had a plastic bag, my
nephew would definitely play with it such as putting it on his head as a hat. However,
adults tend to categorize new situation very quickly. Furthermore, the adult’s
desire to be original was what limits them from exploring more possibilities in
their ideas. Thus, that is why one should defer judgement and go for quantity.
Building
Construction
play is both playful and a powerful way to learn. When it is carried out by
designers, this behaviour is “thinking with your hands”- involves making
multiple, low-resolution prototypes very quickly. For example, a designer uses architectural
paper prototype to show what he wants the design of the building to be like. Thus, by building prototypes we can test our
ideas with our consumers in a much faster way than describing through words.
Role-Play
Designing service and interaction, one needs to imagine how the experience might felt and recognise the flaws in the design through acting. For children, they followed social scripts and learned the rules of social interaction while adults acted out the solutions which helps them prove whether it will succeed and for designers, they had to project themselves in the experience so as to understand what it felt like. For example, if I wanted to feel how is it like to be a cancer patient, shaving all my hair allows me to feel the emotions they felt before. Thus, the idea of role-playing is both an empathy tool as well as a tool for prototyping experiences.
Conclusion
Play is not anarchy- rules of how to play and when to play. It is
important to transition ourselves in and out of play through different
experience using this generative mode - includes divergence and convergence. Lastly, we need to have trust to play and
trust to be creative.
A Picture a Day
One word - Dogs. Who doesn't love dogs? The soft cotton material kept my feet comfortable so every step I walk felt like I am a little higher from the ground.
Pizza Hut with friends. Cheese, ham, pineapple, all the goodness is in there so what's more can ypu ask for ?
On the way home, my bus always pass by here. And of course it looks nice if not I wouldn't take a photo.
A coffee a day keeps my mind awaked.
Though it kept me awake but if I am too tired, I could also fall asleep. It's too bad because life is not a wish granting factory.
Any human eyes can see that this is food and to elaborate more it is nonya curry. It's not just any other nonya curry it's an aromatic and savory nonya curry. Just one spoon of this curry, I felt like I had just tasted half of heaven.
This is call perks of waking up early so maybe 9am class is not too bad after all. Beautiful sky with vivid ombre shades of pink, purple, orange and yellow .
When I have Lady Luck on my hand, I find good food like this. It is located at orchard and the architecture is shape artistically as a cottage. Its large meatballs and large portion is definitely a good place that everyone should go.
